Sign Gypsies IL Quad Cities Policies & Procedures

NOBODY likes to read rules and policies, we TOTALLY get it. BUT this information IS important so you can

know what to expect from us, and what we also expect from you before you rent a yard greeting!

PLEASE take a minute to get acquainted with how we operate at Sign Gypsies!

*When your invoice is paid, you have agreed to all policies prior to setup*



  • We do not guarantee a specific arrival time due to the unique nature of each set up and number of rental greetings booked each day. We will send a reminder email to confirm our best estimated time. We reserve the right to decline a delivery area that we feel may be unsafe for our signs.

  • Greeting may be modified due to yard size and condition.  If you are unsure if your yard will accommodate the size greeting you've ordered please email us ahead of time to discuss, just so we can ensure you've selected an appropriate package.

  • Payment is required prior to delivery/set-up of the rental yard greeting. Yard signs not paid within 48 hrs prior to event date will be cancelled without warning or prior contact. 

  • Clean up any animal waste prior to the installation of the greeting. If there is animal waste in the area, the greeting may have to be installed in a different place in your yard without your approval or may be unable to be installed. NO REFUNDS will be given if the greeting cannot be installed due to excess animal waste.

  • It is not required for you to be home during set up or pick up of the sign. We will install your greeting quickly and quietly in the best location for aesthetic and installation purposes. We will leave a note on the doorknob for the recipient with your desired note to let them know who the yard greeting is from. The tag also gives a few policies so that the recipient understands it is a rental and will be picked back up. 

  • If the rental is a surprise evening setup for another member of your household: please close blinds/drapes during the delivery time window and leave an outside light on for us so we can identify the address easily. If the recipient has a RING or other doorbell/alarm system, please do your best to pause notifications to not ruin the surprise. 

  • Please mow and clean up yard clippings BEFORE the time of your sign installation.




  • Keep animals away from the greeting, as they may cause damage. Please be mindful of dogs that may chew on signs or bark at the installer. The renter is responsible for signs ruined by pets including full replacement costs of signs.

  • Do not allow anyone to play on or around the sign display. Our items WILL NOT support the weight of a child or adult. We will not be held liable for injuries or damage due to anyone playing on or near the yard displays.

  • While we encourage you to pose next to the display for photographs, do not move our signs for any reason. If they need to be moved or taken down early, let us know and we will take care of it. A $50 fee will be assessed if signs are moved by anyone other than Sign Gypsies staff.

  • Do not mow or weed eat/trim around the signs once they are installed. If you have a lawn service, you must inform them of this policy. Any damage to signs will result in charges to the renter starting at a minimum $50 cleaning fee to $300 for inventory damages.

  • Sign Gypsies and all representatives are not responsible or liable for any injury or damage that may be caused to any person or personal property during the setup, rental or removal of signs.

  • All signs are property of Sign Gypsies and the renter is responsible for any damage that may occur. Customer will be charged for loss or theft within their control.




  • We will photograph your sign for use on our website/social media and congratulate the recipient. Social sharing is not guaranteed and is based on quality of photos. Please let us know in advance if you do not want your sign shared. If you have a picture you took that you would like us to have or share, please email it to us! 

  • We will place a small sign in your yard with our company contact information. This sign is unobtrusive and serves to let others know how to contact us. Please do not move or hide it.




  • We will not be able to deliver if there is lightning or hazardous weather. If we are unable to set up your greeting because of inclement weather, you will receive a full refund. Please note that inclement weather also includes wind, which can be especially damaging to our signs. Generally forecasted sustained winds of 20 mph or more will require cancellation. We reserve the right to pull a greeting early if hazardous weather conditions arise.

  • If we are unable to install your sign due to frozen ground, a full refund will be issued. We will attempt to install during winter/frozen conditions, but may use an electric drill (sound warning) which may alert the recipient. 

  • No refunds will be issued if we are unable to install a greeting due to dry ground. This includes having sufficient area to install the sign and having the ground prepared (watered if needed) prior to sign installation. Refunds for situations outside of the renter’s control will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

  • If we are provided the incorrect address for delivery, refunds will not be provided if sign has been placed.

  • If you must cancel your yard greeting, please do so at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery time for a full refund.


Customer agrees to protect, defend, indemnify Sign Gypsies Illinois Quad Cities and hold its officers, employees and agents free and harmless from and against any and all losses, penalties, damages, settlements, costs, charges, professional fees, or other expenses or liabilities of every kind and character arising out of or relating to any and all claims, liens, demands, obligations, actions, proceedings or causes of action of every kind and character in connection with or arising directly or indirectly out of the Sign Gypsies Illinois Quad Cities rental agreement and/or the performance thereof. Customer further agrees to investigate, handle, respond to, provide defense for any such claims, etc., at his sole expense and agrees to bear all other costs and expenses related thereto, even if it (claims, etc.) is groundless, false or fraudulent. The agreement is in effect for the duration of the rental process as defined by the effective dates of the rental agreement.
